Highropes

Get Wet currently operates the highest continuous ropes course in the UK!! Our course starts 7m above the ground and traverses its way through the forest until it reaches its highest point 21m above the ground. The ropes course is a classic cows tail course in which you are responsible for moving your own cows tails from one safety cable to the next.

All participants in the ropes course are trained by qualified instructors. On a training course you will learn how to transfer your cows tails through-out the course. You will only be allowed into the high course when you have completed a full circuit of the training course and have satisfied instructors of your competence.

You are always accompanied around the course by 2 qualified instructors. When larger groups are in the course 3 instructors are used.

Participants in the high ropes session who get to travel through the ropes course and are generally amazed by the size of the tree's they are walking in, some of the bigger trees have a diameter of nearly 2m!!

There are various points throughout the course where you can escape to the ground if the experience is too much for you. The first escape route is via a "Red Point Belay" at a height of 9m. This is an automatic belay device which allows you, once connected to it, to jump from the tree based platform and be lowered to the ground. The second point where you can escape from the course is via the Zip Wire at 14m. This is a huge gravity braked zip which is very different to most zip wires found in ropes courses. You will be taught to abseil to the ground when the zip wire comes to a rest at its lowest point.

If you chose to travel around the whole course, which 98% of customers chose to do, you will end up back at the zip wire platform where you will also zip wire to the ground to finish.

High ropes sessions run for approximately 2 hours, depending on group sizes. Get Wet runs 3 sessions a day.

Participants must be over 10 years old.

Minimum Group Size: 4 people

Session timings: 9am till 11am, 12pm til 2pm and 3pm til 5pm
